When you visit L'Atelier, you will be welcomed by Cristina Mercuri, a young musician who has nurtured her passion since a young age. Entering the conservatory at just 8 years old, she embarked on her journey dedicating herself to the study of the violin. A graduate of the music high school, Cristina devoted over ten years to classical music, studying under the guidance of masters Chiara Morandi, a pupil of Accardo and an extraordinary soloist, and Francesco Comisso, the concertmaster of the "I Solisti Veneti".

Later on, Cristina expanded her musical horizons towards electronic music. Graduating with top marks in October 2023, under the guidance of Gianluca Verlingieri, Francesco Canavese, and Giuseppe Gavazza. Today, Cristina is involved in sound design and computer programming, specializing particularly in sensor technology and interactivity in multimedia sound installations. On the international stage, she has participated in numerous festivals within the framework of the European project "EASTN-DC - European Art Science Technology Network for Digital Creativity" and has attended workshops with masters such as Jonty Harrison, Eliot Sharp, Annette Vande Gorne, Josè Manuel Berenguer, Francesco Giomi, Elio Martuscello, David Berezan, and Theodoros Lotis.

In the field of artistic installations, Cristina has collaborated with various artists including Alessandro Sciaraffa, Luigi Farina, Alma Zoppegni, Cristina Saimandi, and Carlo Cavallo. Additionally, she has been engaged in a longstanding collaboration with the EgriBiancoDanza company from Turin and with cellist Claudio Pasceri, artistic director of the EstOvest Festival in Turin.

In 2023, Cristina was selected for the prestigious residency program "PiGro" at "Tempo Reale," a research center founded in Florence by Luciano Berio in 1987. Her compositions have received high-level recognition, exhibiting at the Venice Architecture Biennale in August 2023 for the French pavilion with the project "News from the Word, Radio Utopia". Subsequently, she presented her works in Paris at the "Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine" and in Chicago for the "Night of Ideas".
